About this role
We are seeking a highly skilled and qualified Dyslexia and/or Dyscalculia Assessor to join our expanding team at Evolve Psychology Services. This role offers the opportunity to work with individuals of all ages, conducting comprehensive diagnostic assessments for specific learning difficulties (SpLDs), including dyslexia and/or dyscalculia.
As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing expert evaluations that guide tailored support plans, ensuring that clients receive the best possible interventions. You will work in a flexible and supportive environment, contributing to a service that has a real impact on the lives of those with learning challenges.

What you'd be doing
As a Dyslexia and/or Dyscalculia Assessor at Evolve Psychology Services, you will play a key role in diagnosing specific learning difficulties (SpLDs) such as dyslexia and/or dyscalculia in children, young people, and adults. Your responsibilities will include conducting comprehensive assessments using standardised tools, writing detailed reports that meet professional and legal standards (including for Disabled Students' Allowance applications), and providing clear recommendations for tailored support strategies and interventions. You will work with clients of all ages, adapting your approach to their specific needs, and ensuring that all records are maintained in line with GDPR and professional guidelines. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to engage in ongoing training, CPD, and clinical supervision to enhance your skills. This is a hybrid role and you will be required to travel to one of our clinic locations in Norwich or Newcastle.
Qualifications
We welcome applications from Specialist Teachers and Educational Psychologists with:
For Specialist Teachers:
- Level 7 qualification in dyslexia and/or dyscalculia assessment and support.
- Active governing body membership from the British Dyslexia Association, PATOSS, or The Dyslexia Guild
- A valid Assessment Practising Certificate (APC) from BDA, PATOSS, or The Dyslexia Guild.
For Educational Psychologists:
- HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist.
- Relevant experience and training in SpLDs.
Experience and Skills
- Proven experience in conducting diagnostic assessments for dyslexia and/or dyscalculia in children, students, and/or adults.
- Strong knowledge of DSM-5 diagnostic criteria for Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD).
Proficiency in using standardised assessment tools, such as:
For Dyslexia: WIAT-III or WIAT-4, WISC-V / WAIS-IV or WAIS-V, CTOPP-2, TOWRE-2, GORT-5, DASH.
For Dyscalculia: WIAT-III or WIAT-4 (maths components), WISC-V / WAIS-IV or WAIS-V, Dyscalculia Screener, Number Sense Screener, KeyMath-3, or other relevant tools.
- Experience in writing high-quality diagnostic reports that meet DSA (Disabled Students’ Allowance) guidelines.

- Ability to provide clear recommendations for support strategies and interventions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
