Screening appointments for adults

You may not yet know if you should have a full autism assessment. Many people find that talking to a professional in the first instance, is very helpful.

Our screening appointments

Our screening appointment is an hour long. During this time, you will meet with your clinician - either in person, or online. Before your appointment, we will have sent you some forms to gather some initial information about your concerns and differences.

At the appointment, your clinician will ask you to talk through these concerns, and what prompted you to consider an assessment. They will then ask a variety of questions to find out more. Your clinician may tell you then what assessment would be appropriate, or they may take it back to the clinical team to discuss further before letting you know. You will receive a letter with recommendations within two weeks of your appointment.

I cannot thank the staff enough for their thorough and person-centred approach to assessment. The communication throughout has been brilliant and I'm very grateful that prompts were provided to the school when seeking clearer understanding of need as this helped develop a bigger picture.

We would like to pass on our thanks to you team for all the hard work they have put into assessing Katie, covering all bases, being patient with school contact and doing their best to understand Katie and unpick her needs. It has been greatly appreciated. Communication has been great from start to finish and I would fully recommend yourselves to anyone I speak to.

Evolve was INCREDIBLY thorough. We both agreed that we felt that our clinicians were very 'switched on' & actually listened to our concerns as parents.
