Karen Duru Specialist Neurodevelopmental Practitioner (Nurse)
About
With over 25 years in nursing and a varied career working in busy secondary and primary care environments, my aim has always been patient care. I have spent 15 years in public health, improving health outcomes and supporting families with complex health needs. My work included collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in nurseries and schools to identify needs early, conducting child development assessments, and guiding families through referral processes. My personal and professional experiences have led to a special interest in neurodevelopment, particularly in female masking and sensory processing. I feel privileged to contribute to neurodevelopmental assessments and to support families in navigating these challenges.
